Onboarding Agent

About the Role

As an Onboarding Agent, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire merchant onboarding process, ensuring each case is handled from start to finish with quality and operational excellence as top priorities. This role gives you full ownership of merchant onboarding and gateway terminal implementation, allowing for increased efficiency, faster processing times, and continuous process improvements.

Additionally, you will be trained to provide backup support for our Direct-To-Merchant (DTM) Norwegian product offering, strengthening operational resilience during absences. Over time, this role will offer opportunities to expand into distributor and integration support, providing a broad foundation in Tidypay’s operational ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

End-to-End Merchant Onboarding

  • Guide and support merchants through the onboarding process, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Play an active role in gateway implementation, ensuring smooth activation and minimal delays.
  • Collaborate with external partners and their merchants to troubleshoot and resolve onboarding-related issues swiftly.
  • Ensure merchants experience a seamless and high-quality onboarding journey.

Operational Support & Process Improvement

  • Identify efficiency improvements in the onboarding process, utilizing automation and system enhancements.
  • Provide feedback on onboarding challenges, working with internal teams to refine both operational and technical processes.
  • Participate in distributor and integration support tasks to develop a 360-degree understanding of operational workflows.

Support for DTM and Distributor Operations

  • Be trained to handle Direct-To-Merchant (DTM) support, ensuring business continuity during absences.
  • Assist with distributor inquiries, terminal activations, and issue resolution.

Cross-Functional Growth & Expansion

  • Gain hands-on experience in distributor and integration support, contributing to broader operational tasks.
  • Work closely with Tidypay’s tech and sales teams to optimize and streamline operational workflows.

Ad-Hoc Tasks & Startup Mindset

  • Be open to taking on tasks outside of the core onboarding role, as working in a startup requires flexibility and adaptability.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in merchant onboarding or a related field is highly preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple cases while upholding operational excellence.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical or compliance-related issues.
  • A proactive and positive mindset with a focus on process improvements and enhancing the customer experience.
  • Strong communication skills in one of the Nordic languages and English — a third language is a massive plus
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment and take on expanded responsibilities over time.
  • A curious and analytical mindset, always looking to understand, learn, and improve. You don’t just follow processes—you question, refine, and contribute to making them better for the company and our partners.
  • Genuine interest in technology and the payments industry. You don’t need to be an expert, but having a curiosity for how payment solutions work and how they integrate with different systems will help you excel in this role.
